The 11th "Brenner" Infantry Division was a large unit of the Royal Army, operational during
the Second World War. In particular, it was a division of mountain infantry, which was
distinguished from the analogous ordinary infantry units for the traction of the divisional
artillery regiment, which was composed of two groups with each other and one wheeled, instead
of two horse trainees and one with the use of baggage instead of the classic carriage.
With the progress of the war and the progressive motorization of a considerable part of the
divisional artillery, the mountain divisions became substantially indistinguishable from the
normal infantry divisions, and the specific denomination gradually fell into disuse.
