Rare bear hat frieze from officer 24 ° Rgt Cavalleggeri "VICENZA"

Rare hat front badge for furs hat  for an officer's hat of the 24th Rgt. Cavalrymen of "VICENZA".

It was established in 1887 with a squadron from each of the Foggia, Guides, Lodi, Rome, Alessandria and Catania regiments and the initial denomination of Cavalleria Vicenza and then of Cavalleggeri di Vicenza (24th).

For the 1887-88 campaigns he contributed to the formation of the Horse Hunters Squadron and for those 1895-96 he sent complements to the mobilized departments.

During the Great War (1915-1918) it was initially used, for the year 1915, as a coastal defense service between the Corno stream and the Tagliamento.
During the battle of Gorizia (August 1916) it passes the Isonzo and points to the Sconpass road junction.
In August 1917, during the battle of the Bainsizza, it collects behind the ridge of Gargaro and attacks the enemy positions to the north east of S. Gabriele going as far as Fobca.
In November of the same year it protects the retreat on the Piave.
During our final offensive, having won the enemy resistance in S. Martino, Sedrano, S. Quirino, it reaches the Tagliamento and then goes to Cividale.
It dissolves in 1919.
