Collecting belt buckles is an alternative discourse to the rest of the militaria world, starting from 1700 at least until the end of the Second World War the buckles in addition to the right task of "tightening" the belt, to which they were often attached shoulder straps or shoulder straps, had an aesthetic relevance therefore the soldier or officer wore large golden or silver buckles, more often chiseled, imposing in their size, they had to be noticed.
