the 33rd and 34th Rgt under its staff. Infantry and disbanded in 1871. In execution of
the law of 11 March 1926 on the organization of the army, which provides for the
establishment of brigades on three regiments, on 1 October it assumes the name of
IV Infantry Brigade and frames, at 33rd and 34th ° Reg. Infantry, also the 38th Rgt.
Ravenna infantry. Subsequently the brigade and the 28th Rgt. Divisional Artillery become
part of the Territorial Military Division of Cuneo (4a). This large unit in 1934 takes
the name of the Monviso Infantry Division (4 ′ Monviso Division, that of the Scudetto
in question), (4th Infantry Division MONVISO), a name that also extends to the brigade
that becomes the Monviso Infantry Brigade (IV ). The organic changes within the brigade
until 1939 concern the alternation of the 38th Rgt. Ravenna infantry with the 44th Rgt.
Infantry Forlì and the temporary transfer, from 1935 to 1936, of the 34th Rgt. Infantry
on the island of Lero, part of the Italian possession of the Dodecanese in the Aegean.
On April 5, 1939, in relation to the organic transformation program of the infantry units,
the division and the brigade give life to the Livorno Infantry Division (4th), which hires
the 33rd and 34th Rgt. Infantry and the 28th Rgt. Divisional Artillery.
