Rare fur hat front badge for officer of the 30th Rgt Cavalleggeri "PALERMO"

In January 1915 it was established that the Group established in 1914, for R.D. n. 584, 
with elements taken from the regiments "Nizza", "Savoia", "Genova", "Novara", "Guide",
 "Catania" at the already existing Special Cavalry Depot in Palermo, composed of three 
squadrons, a second Group, formed by the 6th and 7th squadrons, which the «Cavalleggeri 
di Lucca» regiment had in addition to the staff after the Libyan war - having also absorbed
 elements of the «Cavalleggeri di Lodi» - and, with Law Decree no. 436 on 28 April 1915, 
these five squadrons formed the "Cavalleggeri di Palermo" regiment on 1 May.

As a result of the reduction of the weapon, by virtue of the R.D. 2143, "Palermo" is dissolved, 
as a regiment, on 21 November 1919.
