Indro Montanelli's book, "I cento giorni della Finlandia," published by Garzanti in 1940, features his correspondence from the Finnish front during the so-called Winter War of 1939-1940, which was published in the Corriere della Sera. The book was very popular and was reprinted several times, including under another title. Montanelli remained a friend and admirer of Finland after the war, even during the difficult years of so-called Finlandization.
