Andrea Doria Italian Royal Navy Ship Medal

The Andrea Doria was a battleship of the Regia Marina which with its twin Duilio
 was part of the Duilio class, born as a derivation of the Conte di Cavour type.

Launched in 1913, the ship carried out a modest activity during the First World War
 and then operated intensively after the First World War.

Between 1937 and 1940 it underwent radical modernization works, carried out at the 
Trieste shipyards, and in this new configuration it participated in the Second World War.

At the end of the Second World War, it became part of the Italian Navy, it also played 
the role of flagship going into disarmament in 1956
