Pietro Achille Cavalli Molinelli (Sale 1865 - 1958) was the ship's doctor aboard the Stella Polare, the ship that embarked the expedition to conquer the North Pole. On September 12, 1899, the Stella Polare departed from Christiania (now Oslo), the capital of Norway. The expedition consisted of twenty members: eleven Italians and nine Norwegians. The Italians included: the Duke of the Abruzzi Luigi Amedeo di Savoia, commander of the expedition; then Lieutenant Commander Umberto Cagni and his deputy Francesco Querini; Pietro Achille Cavalli Molinelli, a first-class doctor in the Royal Navy;
