The dagger in question is one of the rarest among all the daggers of the Fascist period,
very few examples are known scattered in the collections of Italy, perhaps a dozen, the
manufacturer is the Gilardoni Company of Milan which produced this dagger in the 1930s. .
The dagger, which in reality is more like a small sword as it has a round tip, has an
anchor-shaped brass hilt, the handle is in orange-colored synthetic material and the guard
bears the letters CP engraved.
The initials CP would hypothesize a project for the officers of the Port Authorities even
if no document has appeared to prove it, in fact the Port Authorities depending on the
Royal Navy had a saber supplied. It is speculated that it could be a sword for the Pre Marines.
The only certain thing is the rarity of the dagger ..... to date little more than a
dozen pieces are known.
