The Alpine was a destroyer of the Royal Navy
The Alpine took part in one of the first clashes of the Italian-Turkish war.
On the afternoon of 29 September 1911, the ship took part, along with numerous
other torpedo boats, in a clash with two Turkish torpedo boats, the Tokat and
the Antalya, which left the port of Preveza. At two in the afternoon the Italian
units attacked the two Turkish ships with speed and decision: while the destroyer
Artigliere seriously damaged the Tokat, chasing it inside the anchorage, the Alpino,
together with the destroyers Carabiniere and Zeffiro and the torpedo boat Spiga,
surrounded Antalya
