Spectacular and very rare velvet balcony banner with the city logo covered by the fasces.
This banner is particularly rare and interesting as it is not the usual red banner with the fasces or the other model with the tricolor and the fasces; this is the banner that was presumably displayed from the windows of the municipality of Piacenza (the logo is that of the city of Piacenza, a two-part shield with a square in a shield and the fasces and the Lupa)
The banner shows obvious signs of use, in fact it is discolored on the outside (the back is still semi-intact) and has some mending repairs. From the back you can clearly see the She-Wolf which appears to be stitched, i.e. the the edge of the figure of the Wolf is done in dots, on the front unfortunately due to exposure it is less noticeable but up close it is clearly visible
What could be considered negative guarantees the actual originality of the piece and its real use.
In 40 years of collecting it is the first banner that I have come across with the city logo.
The banner measures approximately 190 cm to which 15 cm of fabric fringe must be added, the width is approximately 120 cm
