This is a historical fact unknown to most.

In Milan, during the inauguration of the Trade Fair, a bomb was detonated in the crowd.

From wikipedia:

The attack on the King of Italy Vittorio Emanuele III was a terrorist bombing act that
took place on April 12, 1928 in Piazza Giulio Cesare, in Milan, during the inauguration
ceremony of the IX edition of the Trade Fair dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the
victory of the First World War: a bomb placed in the cast iron base of a street lamp
in the square exploded in the crowd that rushed to pay homage to King Vittorio Emanuele III
and crowded around the Fountain of the Four Seasons, instantly killing fourteen people and
injuring forty. Over the next few days, six more people died from their injuries. The investigations carried out led to the arrest and subsequent release of numerous people
but the actual responsibilities were never identified. Due to the dynamics and location of
the bomb, it was assumed that the attack was aimed at carrying out a massacre of civilians,
as it actually did, rather than actually targeting the king. The funeral of the victims was held on Sunday 15 April with a majestic ceremony in the Milan
Cathedral from which the funeral procession wound up to the Famedio of the Monumental Cemetery.
Particular emotion aroused the story of the Ravera family: in fact, the mother and the two were
killed in the attack children Gian Luigi aged 5 and little sister Rosina aged 8.
The sculptor Adolfo Wildt dedicated the famous bust Mother Ravera to his mother in 1929
and created the Ravera Monument at the Monumental in Milan for the family.
