Tropical headdress frieze 1911/1913 23 ° Rgt Cavalleggeri UMBERTO I °

The 23rd Regiment Cavalleggeri Umberto I was constituted in 1887 with a squadron 
of the Regiments of Padua, Saluzzo, Caserta, Monferrato, Lucca and Piacenza with
 the name of Cavalleggeri Umberto I Regiment, which changed in 1897 to that of 
Cavalleggeri di Umbero I.

In 1887-1888 he contributed to the formation of the Horse Hunters Squadron which
 operates in Eritrea and for the 1895-96 and 1911-12 campaigns he provided the
 complements to the mobilized departments.
