European deactivation allows the owner to transport the inerted weapon outside Italy to member states without problems, unlike Italian deactivations which have no value outside Italy.

Furthermore, being a weapon from 1891, all Carcano 1891s are under the protection of Italian cultural heritage, having on average more than 100 years old, which means that many Cultural Heritage offices deny their decommissioning, arguing that under Italian Cultural Heritage law the destruction of a cultural asset
