A very interesting lot of documents belonging to a German medical officer, Hermann Schreyer, who died in hospital on March 23, 1942, from wounds sustained in combat.

The soldier in question was decorated with the Iron Cross 2nd and 1st Class and was wounded in battle.

The lot includes a beautiful, finely crafted and hand-painted terracotta "student" mug, presumably given to him while he was at university. The lot also includes various documents, including his stebebilder, his car license, photos of his family, including his wife and daughters, the sports card of one of his daughters complete with a pin, and, importantly, the death certificate issued by the Commander of his Regiment, 63rd Regiment, 2nd Hunter Battalion.
