Original "Stahlhelmbund" "Front Heil" belt buckle, made of two pieces of brass. The buckle was established by Franz Seldte in November 1918 in Magdeburg as a national organization for veterans. It began in 1918 with just over 20,000 men and grew to approximately 1,000,000 men by 1932, before joining the SA Sturmabteilung in Rohm. The obverse of the buckle depicts a Stahlhelm helmet facing left, with two rope loops, the inscription "Front Heil" above and an oak leaf below. The buckle has a small impact mark above the helmet brim. Original buckles are mandatory and are made of two pieces.
