The United States Airman's Medal

It is awarded to members of the United States Air Force and Space Force who distinguish themselves by acts of heroism at the voluntary risk of their lives, in non-combat situations.
The bronze medal depicts the Greek god Hermes kneeling with an eagle taking flight from his hands.
It was established by Congress on July 6, 1960.
