The Democratic Party of Labor (PDL), known until June 13, 1944 as Democracy of Labor (DL), was an Italian political party of progressive inspiration. Its leading figures were Ivanoe Bonomi, Meuccio Ruini, Mario Cevolotto, Luigi Gasparotto, and Enrico Molè.
Its initial nucleus was founded in April 1943 as Democracy of Labor (DL), based on the Reconstruction Movement formed between late 1942 and early 1943. Its symbol was based on that of the Social Democracy of the pre-Fascist era.
The Democratic Laborists joined the National Liberation Committee, uniting a small group of pre-Fascist notables. On June 13, 1944, the DL changed its name to the Democratic Party of Labor. It did not have a strong popular following: its lifespan was short.
In 1946, the DL participated in the elections for the Constituent Assembly on June 2nd with its own lists, obtaining 0.2%
