Partisan flyer, Milan Uprising 1945, rare.
This flyer calls on anti-fascist citizens to insurrection in Milan.
The Milan Uprising of April 1945 was the series of strikes, occupations, and armed actions that led to the liberation of the city of Milan from German occupation and the authorities of the Italian Social Republic between April 24 and 29, 1945.
The episode had national significance because Milan was the headquarters of the Northern Italy National Liberation Committee (CLNAI); from the city, on April 25, the order for a general uprising was issued in the northern Italian territories still occupied by the Nazis. April 25 was thus adopted in the postwar period as a symbolic date of national liberation and became the Anniversary of the Liberation of Italy.
