The medal is made of bronze and features the mythical Yata-no-karasu crow flanked by two flags of the Rising Sun on the obverse. The ribbon features blue, white, red, and beige (or sand) stripes. These medals were awarded to military personnel participating in the China campaign between 1937 and 1945.
