Extremely rare and hard to find CASE XX M-1 Astronaut Knife, First Edition 1966. It was produced by CASE XX for NASA, for every Gemini and Apollo manned space mission. One of these knives is on display at the Smithsonian Institute Museum in Washington, DC. CASE XX produced 2,494 of these knives, offered to the public in 1966, this one bears the serial number 1278. It is displayed in a solid wood case, with a plexiglass lid. Description: It is 100% original. The Tru-Sharp Surgical blade, with a polished finish and a ground edge, is razor sharp, as if it had just left the factory. It also has a double sawtooth blade on the spine. It is acid etched W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company ASTONAUT KNIFE - M-1 S/N 1278 MODEL 1966 and measures approximately 11.5 inches. The overall measurement is approximately 17 inches.
