This brass military buckle used by the Czechoslovak Army between 1918 and 1939. It features the coat of arms of the Czechoslovak lion with the Slovak shield on the chest. It features a hook and a clasp used to secure the belt. Some examples of this type bear the manufacturer's mark "M.S.s" (Mathias Salcher and Sons) on the back. These buckles were also used by volunteers of the Czech and Slovak Legion during World War II.
