Rare Swiss M1878 bayonet

Rare Swiss Model 1878 pioneer bayonet. 

This bayonet was built for the Vetterlis 1878-1881 family of rifles and the early Schmidt Rubins. 

Built by S.J.C.  Neuhausen.  This piece shows a 18 3/4 blade with the fuller on one side only. 

This was the earliest of the Swiss sawback bayonets.  This example comes with it's steel mounted leather scabbard.
