A true rarity! A 2nd model M35 dagger, presumably modified during the Italian Social Republic, with an engraving on the blade reading "LEONESSA" (Ferrea Mole Ferreo Cuore), which was the motto of the Raperti Carri of the Royal Army, and which is still the motto of the Tank Units of the Italian Republic. The dagger is very similar to a Federal Ensign (Florence Arezzo) but lacks the silver plate. However, as shown in the photos, compared to another 2nd model M35, the rivet holes are narrower, the grip is different, and even the grip fixing plate on the tang is very similar to the daggers of the Federal Ensigns. It is possible that the same company that produced the daggers for the Federal Ensigns also produced them for the REI or the RSI.
